Next floor brings two more quests. One from a postman who wants three Mints you can take from the Primitive Jungle, and another to find a lost lucky coin (that was also lost once in Etria). It was dropped near an angry bird which the game pointed out for me but said I had no reason to be there. When I eventually get around to it, it's just against a 842HP version of those big fire birds. Just a big sack of HP to take down.

Get a new mission too: find the lost adventurer from Etria.

B2 itself isn't much to talk about. These idiots were hanging around, and the floor was based around either avoiding these invisible untilt they see you guys or lurking them around but I didn't have the mojo to take them on quite yet. Not a lot of open areas in this particular floor. One big joke of a room instantly surrounds you with three of the things.

One new enemy is a tiger. It dealt splash electrical damage when it hit with its specialty attack, but it was vulnerable to head bind. I also see Mr. Emo hanging around

After I get by them, there's a sort of winding path with damage tiles and a "long" way around to get through. I get a message saying the only place left to search is the middle of the floor after getting by it, and nearby is an Adventure Episode involving water in a tree that helps keep me going just a bit longer. Also before that was one where Harumi found an ambush in the form of a tiger and palm tree, no big deal. Just as I was heading out after preparing for the Wyvern that is certainly on this floor because it's in the title and EO1...

My party hits level 20!!

With this, and after some thought, I'm able to give my party a serious powering up.

---

- Harumi maxed out Black Wave. This regenerates 5TP a turn under the Miasma Armor status, giving her nigh-unlimited TP. Along the way she picked up Atonement, a pretty good skill that ends the status unless the force break is active or she has a certain lv40 passive but heals the party and possibly ailments. And Soul Transfer, a pretty bad skill which also ends the status for a mere chance to revive all allies.

- Gundis got Improved Link and maxed it out. Otherwise I sat on his skill points for now.

- Sophie picked up and maxed out Royal Dignity, a skill which heals her once a turn when damaged if she's buffed, meaning the Royal Veil healing train could continue perpetually. She also got a point in Protect Order, bestowing a buff that does end of turn healing, and a point in Royal Lineage, which restores 2TP when she's buffed - including by herself - and that number goes up more skill points are invested.

- Nina maxed out Ninpo: Double. This skill produces a fully functional copy of the user in the sixth slot, effectively doubling her action capacity for the rest of the fight. It cuts HP and TP 55% which each ends up with, but at the end the copies combine their pools.

- Gundis quickly maxed out Act Quick and Charged Shot. Combined, this is like 840% damage for just 8TP. One of the strongest moves you can pull out at this stage of the game. She also got normal access to Head Bind, and so was able to upgrade her weapon.

Now with all this done I was able to beat up those scorpions.

The main ability of these Jungle Killers is a randotargeting attack - can't hit a party member more than once - that can inflict sleep or poison. No easy straightforward way to just leg bind the idiot -it's just too resistant and I don't have a skill of Harumi's to make it easier yet - so it couldn't use it just yet, so I had to rely on Gundis' Medic Bullet and healing items. It was also irritatingly resistant to piercing damage, so my Gunner's strong new move wasn't that good.

Either I got very unlucky fighting it here or accumulative resistance wasn't working as expected. Still, I didn't get so unlucky as to die, either. I'm thinking it was mostly the former, as future engagements against it did see it noticeably repeatedly fail to inflict ailments.

---

There wasn't much more to do after getting that kill. I could make a Rapier with it, but didn't do so just yet. Only thing left to do was enter the Wyvern's lair.

Who promptly picks me up and throws me into B3.

Uh, cool?
