Progression-related Achievements:
All of these can be obtained through in-game progression, and are split across the various categories. You do not need to do anything special for these ones, and have to go out of your way not to obtain them. They are listed here for completion purposes.

Class-related Achievements:
These will all require a certain class in your party in order to obtain them. There are some groups of exceptions that I list elsewhere they're better sorted there. Every job gives you an achievement for beating the game with it, so I won't go over those in detail.

Warrior/Paladin
- The Way of the Fighter - “Beat the game with a Warrior/Paladin in your party”
- Fus-Ro-Dah! - “Make any NPC move out of your way using SHOUT world ability a total of 3 times”
These are self-explanatory.

- Lunar Largesse - “Obtain the Lunar shield”
To obtain this, head to Lufein after obtaining the Xcalber and interact with the fountain. You'll be offered the chance to exchange it for this shield. You're free to trade it back, so don't worry about losing your sword.

Thief/Ninja
- The Way of the Shadow - “Beat the game with a Thief/Ninja in your party”
- Elemental Wheel - “Use all 6 ninjutsu items on a single enemy”
This refers to the scrolls you can find in Gaia, NG+ Coneria, or scattered around with SEARCH. Note that these do a lot of damage; using them in the weakness-setting order will more than likely outright kill anything in the standard game that isn't CHAOS. Luckily, it doesn't matter what order you do them in.

- Which Way Did He Go? - “Escape from any boss fight”
Simply use the Ninja's LIMIT on just about any boss fight.

Monk/Master
- The Way of the Fist - “Beat the game with a Monk/Master in your party”
- C-C-C-Combo Breaker! - “Defeat 3 or more enemies with a single COMBO attack”
This is best done later on when the Monk has more hits and damage to work with. Splattering some IMPs or something will do just fine.

- Re-Mastered - “Earn your title as a Master in a trial by combat”
Return to Castle Ordeals and speak with the old man to be thrust into a battle where you can only use your Master(s). It's best to have a Ribbon for this and be somewhat high level; 21 is a good start. The Defender can help, and don't be afraid to use LIMIT on the STATUE or RockGOL. Win and you'll get a new ability and the achievement.

Red Mage/Red Wizard
- The Way of the Duelist - “Beat the game with a Red Mage/Wizard in your party”
- Now, With More Spells! - “Learn any level 8 magic spell with Red Wizard”
The spells can be learned by going to the magic shop in Lefein, walking behind the shop, and pressing the action button several times.

White Mage/White Wizard
- The Way of the Healer - “Beat the game with a White Mage/Wizard in your party”
- Tricks of the Trade - “Learn the secret technique of revival as a White Wizard”
After promotion, go to the destroyed clinic on the east side of Melmond. Walk where the door would be and examine the ruins to obtain the ability and achievement.

Black Mage/Black Wizard
- The Way of the Sorcerer - “Beat the game with a Black Mage/Wizard in your party”
- Prime Optimization - “Boost the damage of any elemental spell by priming it as a Black Wizard”
You can obtain this skill by visiting Matoya and speaking to her with your Black Wizard as your displayed character. Then get into combat and use any element twice in one battle, e.g. cast FIRE twice.

Blue Mage/Blue Wizard
- The Way of the Enemy - “Beat the game with a Blue Mage/Wizard in your party”
- So, That’s How it Works… - “Learn an enemy’s special attack”
- Loremaster - “Learn all Blue Magic spells”
The last two involve learning the job's spells. Jobs that can help with learning them all are Trainer (lures out rare encounters), Evoker (gives an easier source for INFERNO), and Green Mage or Time Mage (can drop saves in the areas). My magic guide has a list of them and their locations.

Dancer/Rhythmist
- The Way of the Dance - “Beat the game with a Dancer/Rhythmist in your party”
- First Steps - “Learn your first Dance”
- Lord of the Dance - “Learn all Dances”
- Full-Circle - “Learn DETERMINATION job trait”
My magic guide has a list of all dance locations. To learn DETERMINATION, just talk with Arylon after getting all the dances.

- Blood, Sweat, and Tears - “Execute a Dance with 300% bravery”
This is easiest to acquire with promotion and the FLURRY command. Just make sure your other party members hold back and that the enemy doesn't run or die before you can get it off.

Geomancer/Elementalist
- The Way of the Elements - “Beat the game with a Geomancer/Elementalist in your party”
- Mother Nature’s Will - “Cast a ‘rare’ Geomancy spell using TERRAIN ability”
These pop out at random, so just keep on using TERRAIN. You'll get it eventually.

- Terrain-Sampler - “Store 6 different terrain types using SAMPLE world ability”
Use the Elementalist's field ability in six different spots.

- World Traveler - “Use Geomancy spells in every type of terrain”
You will need an Evoker to get the Astral terrain, but don't sweat putting them in the same party: it's as easy as walking into GOBLIN's abode and using TERRAIN on a new game.

- One Ringer to Rule Them All - “Obtain BLESSED bell”
There are six elemental bells located in various dungeons; you can also find them with SEARCH. Turn a set of these in to a man in the southwest corner of Pravoka to obtain this weapon and the achievement.

Lancer/Dragoon
- The Way of the Dragon - “Beat the game with a Lancer/Dragoon in your party”
- Strike from Above - “Defeat 5 enemies with jump attacks”
Self-explanatory.

- Jumped Up Kicks - “Obtain Leaping Boots”
Speak with the dragon in Onrac with the Dragoon as your lead. Then kill 100 enemies with either JUMP or SUPER JUMP and return to him. A message will appear in battle once you get the necessary amount of kills.

Trainer/Beastmaster
- The Way of the Beast - “Beat the game with a Trainer/Beastmaster in your party”
- Turning the Tides - “Control a monster in combat”
- Foe or Friend? - “Capture a monster in combat”
Just use the job's command abilities successfully once.

- All You Can Eat - “Feed all 6 types of pet food to any number of captured monsters”
Pet food can be obtained by showing a T REX to a man in Gaia. Save in the forest near Lefein and keep running into encounters and soft resetting a Beastmaster as the lead, and it'll eventually show up. This unlocks new items to buy; simply use all six at some point. You'll need to summon a monster into battle to feed it more food. It doesn't have to be the same monster.

- Gotta Catch ‘em All - “Capture every controllable monster”
This is a tedious one. CATCH works on the same mechanics as CONTROL, so higher level/HP on the Trainer helps, as can lower HP on the monster. You'll need an Evoker along to achieve some of these that are exclusive to the Astral Planes. The pawprint icon on the Bestiary screen will show if you've captured a monster or not; a lack thereof means it can't be captured.

Evoker/Summoner
- The Way of the Caller - “Beat the game with a Evoker/Summoner in your party”
- Call Upon Me - “Learn your first Summoning Magic spell”
- Master Summoner - “Learn all Summoning Magic spells”
- Challenge of the Wyrmking - “Defeat BAHAMUT in combat”
My magic guide has a list of locations for these. You'll simply need to beat the things, which can sometimes be easier said than done.

- Avatar’s Bounty - “Have 2 or more Avatar’s Favor effects active at the same time”
There are two ways to obtain this. Either use a party with multiple Evokers, or achieve it through use of the LIMIT command. Use a summon (PHOENIX is ideal since it doesn't deal damage), use the LIMIT again to gain its favor for two rounds, then use another charge summon on the next round.

Time Mage/Time Wizard
- The Way of the Chronomancer - “Beat the game with a Time Mage/Wizard in your party”
- Do-Over - “Restart a battle using EGRESS ability”
Simply use the command.

- Let’s Get Nuts - “Learn SET TELEPOINT world ability”
This can be obtained by using the L6 TELE spell in Castle Ordeals. Talk to the mage to unlock the ability and achievement.

- Dwarven Healing - “Receive ‘biased’ healing from a dwarf”
Talk with the dwarf directly south of the entrance to the dwarf cave to get this. The Time Mage does not need to be your visible character.

- ’GLURG…!’ - “Get a game over by drowning”
- Shifting Paradigms - “Defeat any of the other FIENDs before defeating LICH”
These both require use of the L3 FLOAT spell. For the former, simply let it run out over a river without having the canoe. For the latter, complete the Ice Cave early by floating over the river to it. With two charges, you'll need to rest partway with a HOUSE. With three, you don't have to stop, but you'll still need HOUSEs to recharge. When and if you make it, you can get the airship. Just complete any other dungeon first. See orb order below as well.

Green Mage/Green Wizard
- The Way of the Druid - “Beat the game with a Green Mage/Wizard in your party”
- Boon for Bane - “Remove 2 or more elemental or status resistances, at the same time, from an ally using EXUVIATION ability”
Cast two or more anti-spells on one ally then use EXUVIATION.

- The Best Offense… - “Achieve the maximum damage multiplier using EXUVIATION ability”
This set up in a weird/dumb way: you will need the Green Wizard's LIMIT active and either WALL or 8 cumulative resistances between ARUB (counts for 3), ALIT, AFIR, AICE, APOIS, AWATER, and AWIND. WALL and BARRIER is the fastest way. Use the command once it's all set up and laugh bitterly at how low the damage turns out for all that effort.

- Protego! - “Learn WARDING CIRCLE world ability”
Talk with Sarda after promotion to earn this.

Bard/Troubadour
- The Way of the Voice - “Beat the game with a Bard/Troubadour in your party”
- Do…Re…Mi… - “Learn your first Song”
- Songsmith - “Learn all Bard Songs”
My magic guide has a list of locations for these.

- Antique Collector - “Obtain both of the royal heirloom harps”
Talk to Sara and the Elf Prince after promotion for this. The Gilbart Harp isn't required.

- Quadrophenia - “Have 4 instances of the same Bard Song active at the same time”
You will either need to use the Troubadour's LIMIT for this or make a party with multiple bards. It's simple to farm in that fashion: just do so, get the first song, and have them all use it.

Dark Knight/Deathknight
- The Way of the Darkness - “Beat the game with a Dark Knight/Deathknight in your party”
- Embrace the Darkness - “Use 5 successful melee attacks against a blinded enemy with Dark Knight or Deathknight”
The class gets a hit% bonus against blinded opponents. DARK (which they, Black, and Red Mage can use), BLND (if you dare waste the spell slot), or DIM (Time Mage) can inflict this in particular.

- Life is Pain - “Learn MISERY job trait”
After promotion, speak with the man in Onrac's graveyard. Then you just need to have them take 1000 damage in a battle without dying. Taking off their armor and fighting a decently strong opponent that won't run should do the trick; make sure you have a healing source like Heal Staff/Helmet, magic, etc. If you have multiple Deathknights, damage incurred between all of them counts and only one needs to survive. A message will pop when it's achieved. Talk to the guy again to get it.

- No More Heroes - “Consume all 5 bats in the Temple of Fiends”
- Can’t be Healthy - “Consume all bats”
Bats are found in the Temple of Fiends, Northwest Castle, Marsh Cave, Earth Cave, and Waterfall. New Game+ can help with this since you won't have to backtrack through any dungeons.

- Must…Kill… - “Inflict KO status on an enemy with the Chaos Greatsword while under the effects of EN-DARK”
This weapon can be found with SEARCH in the very first room you appear in the ToFR. You'll need a Ninja and a Deathknight in the party; class change is required to use this and EN-DARK.

Spellblade/Rune Knight
- The Way of the Mystic - “Beat the game with an Spellblade/Rune Knight in your party”
- Does That Hurt? - “Exploit an enemy’s elemental weakness using a Weapon Enchantment spell”
Cast any of the class's EN-spells and physically attack an enemy weak to it. It does not have to be the Spellblade themselves attacking. It even works if you use Deathknight's EN-DARK on CARBUNCLE, or any other source.

- Proclivity to Exploit - “Learn all tier 2 Weapon Enchancement spells”
Just need to grind them out after promotion. The undead spike in the Northwest Castle is a good source, as they interact with all the relevant elements except lightning. Which can either be done there or the Sea Shrine.

- Maximum Discharge - “Unleash a fully-charged LUNGE attack on enemies”
This refers to the FIGHT+ command you can with RUNIC charges. The quickest way is to use the Rune Knight's LIMIT followed by FIGHT+.

- Wanderlust - “Find the wandering swordsman at all locations”
- Enough of this Banter - “Complete the wandering swordsman’s ultimate challenge”
- Epic Victory - “Defeat GILGAMESH in combat”
He will appear in the following locations: the east side of Pravoka, Marsh Cave north in the room with the Large Knife, the Titan's Tunnel treasure room, the entry hall of Gurgu B4, Ice Cave's pit room, the Zeus Gauntlet room in Ordeals' teleporter maze, and the northern part of Mirage Tower 1F's treasure room. After you get Xcalber, you can encounter and fight him on Coneria's bridge. You must talk to him at all locations to unlock Wanderlust. If you talk to him at any missed spot with the sword, he will disappear from all locations except the bridge.

This is a gimmick fight in which the primary solution is to simply outlast him until the fight ends on its own after around 7 turns. He attacks once for every character alive; it can help to have less party members up so RUNIC can absorb more per turn, as well as any allies who can help with sustain. But to unlock the last of these, you need to defeat him outright. He has 8888HP, attacks once for each party member you have standing, and can inflict status that cannot be resisted short of the Green Wizard's LIMIT. You need to win before the battle ends too, so buffs and things like DEMI and GEOSTORM (does around 4.5k) can help immensely.

Archer/Ranger
- The Way of the Hunter - “Beat the game with an Archer/Ranger in your party”
- Tip to Shaft - “Craft a magical arrow”
- All a Quiver - “Craft every type of magical arrow”
- Creatural Appropriation - “Poach monster materials from an enemy”
An Archer needs to defeat an enemy with a FIGHT attack to obtain materials. Simply create any of their arrows from their magic menu out of battle to earn the first of these achievements, and craft all of them to earn the one for completion.

- Bow of Legends - “Obtain the legendary Yoichi Bow”
This can be found by using SCAVENGE on the southern peninsula east of Gaia. It can seem to appear anywhere on it, so just move around and keep looking.

Number Achievements:
These require you to do a certain number of things a certain number of times.

White and Black Magic
- Arcane Knowledge - “Learn your first Black Magic spell”
- Arcane Mastery - “Learn all Black Magic spells”
- Divine Knowledge - “Learn your first White Magic spell”
- Divine Mastery - “Learn all White Magic spells”
Note that as soon as you learn the spell it gets checked off the list, so you're free to reload your save and learn a different one without needing multiple of the same class or doing multiple playthroughs. You'll need a White Mage, Green Mage, and Spellblade for the White spells, a Black Mage, Time Mage, and Dark Knight for the Black spells, and a Red Mage for both.

Equipment
- Well-Rounded - “Equip a total of 4 different weapon types”
- Experimentalist - “Equip a total of 10 different weapon types”
- Dripped Out - “Equip a total of 4 different armor types”
- Fashionista - “Equip a total of 7 different armor types”
I'm unsure what armor counts; I can say that scarves are treated separately from shields despite sharing the same slot. There are 12 weapon types in the game; if you want to farm the weapon one, you can get everything but a whip, axe, and bell from the Coneria store. Then you'll just need to take a Warrior or Trainer as far as Pravoka for the axe.

SEARCH
- There it is! - “Find a hidden treasure using SEARCH”
- Yahaha! You Found Me! - “Find 5 hidden treasures using SEARCH”
- How Many Are There? - “Find 20 hidden treasures using SEARCH”
- Help! I Can’t Stop! - “Find 50 hidden treasures using SEARCH”
- So…Much…Treasure - “Find 100 hidden treasures using SEARCH”
- It’s a Way of Life - “Find 150 hidden treasures using SEARCH”
- No Stone Unturned - “Find all hidden treasures using SEARCH”
You will need a Thief in the party to obtain these achievements. This guide can help in locating them, and the game shows you how many are left in each area.

Magic
- Oooh… Sparkly - “Use magic spells 10 times in combat”
- Magic is Cool - “Use magic spells 25 times in combat”
- I AM A WIZARD!! - “Use magic spells 100 times in combat”
You'll likely get this eventually with any offensive magic class in your party.

Skills
- Trying New Things - “Use combat abilities 10 times in combat”
- Abilities Are Fun! - “Use combat abilities 25 times in combat”
- Maximum Strategery - “Use combat abilities 100 times in combat”
Another one you'll likely get eventually as long as you have a class that likes using its skills regularly.

Drink
- That’s the stuff - “Drink any type of potion 10 times in combat”
- Drinking problem - “Drink any type of potion 50 times in combat”
DRINK is usually not a command you'll use in combat; HEAL is effectively a bottled CURE spell. It's best farmed, but you can do little things like using PUREs in combat to try to get this sooner.

Items
- Feels like Cheating - “Use enchanted items 10 times in combat”
- Can’t Help Myself - “Use enchanted items 100 times in combat”
This refers to any piece of equipment that can cast a spell when used an item in battle. My equipment list has a list of these.

Limit
- Breaking Limits - “Use a LIMIT ability in combat”
- Giving it Your All - “Use LIMIT abilities 10 times in combat”
- Crushing It - “Use LIMIT abilities 50 times in combat”
You'll more than likely have to farm this one unless you're using specific strategies in a challenge playthrough.

Defeating enemies
- Good Start - “Defeat 50 enemies in combat”
- Culling the Herd - “Defeat 200 enemies in combat”
- Extermination - “Defeat 1000 enemies in combat”
- Genocide - “Defeat 100000 enemies in combat”
I get the feeling that last one either added an extra 0 or is some sort of sick joke on Ozmo's behalf.

Unarmed attacks
- Face to Fist Style - “Defeat 5 enemies with regular melee attacks, no weapon equipped”
- Just Keep Swinging - “Defeat 25 enemies with regular melee attacks, no weapon equipped”
- Eye of the Tiger - “Defeat 100 enemies with regular melee attacks, no weapon equipped”
It doesn't matter whether you're using a Monk or not, any sort of unarmed FIGHT counts. Obviously, it's easiest with Monk. Note that only FIGHT counts: COMBO does not contribute towards this.

Damage
- Bringing the Pain - “Deal a cumulative total of 100,000 direct combat damage to enemies”
- Flogging for Fun - “Deal a cumulative total of 500,000 direct combat damage to enemies”
- Infliction Addiction - “Deal a cumulative total of 1,000,000 direct combat damage to enemies”
Just keep playing, you'll get this one eventually unless you run a lot.

NPCs
- Making friends - “Talk to 25 NPCs”
- Town gossip - “Talk to 75 NPCs”
- Social butterfly - “Talk to 150 NPCs”
Self-explanatory, simply talk to all the NPCs you can. This notably counts every single bat in the game individually, although there's enough NPCs around to get this without talking to any.

- Moneybags - “Accumulative a total of 10,000,000 Gold in inventory during a single playthrough, in any game mode”
The only practical way to achieve this is with a Thief because they can get a free 7,777,777G by using SEARCH in the final room of the game. Despite saying accumulative, you need 10 million in the bank all at once. Try not to take expensive classes like Dancer or any mages that have to buy magic. Playing this on New Game+ can help immensely since enemy gold payout is doubled. If you need to grind money, enemies in Mirage and the Floating Castle tend to pay out a lot.

- Port Authority - “Dock the ship in every port”
There are a couple of these that you will need to go out of your way to dock at, such as south of Elfland or south of the peninsula of power. Use a map if you're stuck and unsure.

- Mystic Quest - “Obtain all treasures locked by the mystic KEY”
The treasuries of Coneria Castle, the Elvish Castle, Northwest Castle, and the Dwarf Cave, the four southernmost rooms in the Marsh Cave, and the northeast and southeast rooms of the Temple of Fiends all have stuff to get. The Marsh Cave one is the most obnoxious needless to say, but worst case, nothing is stopping you from returning later. Note that this counts the Harps exclusive to Renaissance Mode, so you cannot get this in Classic by itself.

- The Thousand Tomes - “Complete the Bestiary”
This will require playthroughs with Monk, Blue Mage, Evoker, and Dancer since they all have unique enemies that only they can fight in their quests. Other classes that can help are Trainer (can lure in rare random encounters), as well as Green Mage and Time Mage (can save on the relevant floors). A Spellblade playthrough is not required.

- Atop the Highest Mountains - “Reach level 50 on any character”
This is best achieved either on New Game+ and/or with a solo character.

---

Challenge-related Achievements:

Rare randoms
- Nuclear Disarmament - “Defeat WarMECH in combat”
- Not Today, Satan - “Defeat HADES in combat”
WarMECH is easy enough to find; it's the 20th encounter after a hard reset (also the 7th, but you can only get to Floating Castle F5 with a Time Wizard with SET TELEPOINT). HADES, not so much: it appears on Sea Shrine B5 in the stretch of land leading to KRAKEN's room. and does not follow the normal encounter table (the odds are supposedly 1%). The only things that can help are Trainer, Green Mage and Time Mage. It has an attack called ABYSSAL DARK which is poison-elemental, so bring the appropriate protections.

Minimus
- Arcanus Minimus - “Beat the game in any mode with a Black Mage in your party, without learning more than 1 spell per spell level”
- Divinus Minimus - “Beat the game in any mode with a White Mage in your party, without learning more than 1 spell per spell level”
- Magus Minimus - “Beat the game in any mode with a Red Mage in your party, without learning more than 1 spell per spell level”
- Druides Minimus - “Beat the game in any mode with a Green Mage in your party, without learning more than 1 spell per spell level”
- Tempus Minimus - “Beat the game in any mode with a Time Mage in your party, without learning more than 1 spell per spell level”
Not as difficult as they may seem on paper. Typically, there's one spell that stands out over the rest in a level. For example, elemental spells for the Black Mage; optionally FAST and TMPR instead, or the REGEN line for Green Mage. Just consider what would be useful to you above all others. Note that not learning a spell on any level is just as acceptable.

Quickness
- Need for Speed - “Beat the game in any mode with under 4 hours of total playtime”
- Master of Efficiency - “Beat the game in any mode with under 20,000 total steps taken”
Increasing the game speed in the options will do this without incrementing the game time proportionally. Otherwise or if this gets patched, the simplest option is to use Time Wizard's shenanigans. Steps may be something you earn accidentally; as long as you don't go out of your way to grind too much, you have a good shot of earning this.

Solos
- Classically Insane - “Complete the entire game in Classic Mode with only a single character in your party”
- Masochist - “Beat the game in Classic Mode with only a single character AND no job promotion”
- Revisedly Insane - “Complete the entire game in Renaissance Mode with only a single character in your party”
These must be done with empty slots, not dead characters. Doing a solo challenge may seem like a daunting task, but there's ones that take less perseverance than others. Dragoon on NG+ is easy; most non-magical jobs can do fine. For Masochist, the simplest is Black Belt, which gains nothing from promotion. As long as you can get by the start. If not, go with Fighter.

Playstyle
- Ya Basic - “Beat the game in any mode with no job class promotion”
Not too difficult. Just stay away from Red Mage, who gets crippled by lack of promotion. If you're looking to be efficient, knock this out at the same time as Masochist.

- Penny-Pincher - “Beat the game in any mode without spending more than 100,000 Gold”
- Scavenger - “Beat the game in any mode without purchasing any Weapons or Armor”
Grouping these two together since they're very similar, and I have a written report of such a run - just note that you don't need to refrain from using Monk! The best way to get these is with Thief and its ability to SEARCH for items. The early part of the game is the roughest here. But you find all the best equipment in FF1, so don't worry about the late game. If you want to split these up, you're free to use all the magic you want for Scavenger. Otherwise, only Blue Mage, Evoker, and Geomancer are on the table for Penny-Pincher. Keep in mind that the BOTTLE costs 50,000G, so you really only have half that to work with.

- Designated Adventurer - “Beat the game in any mode without using any consumable potions”
- Off the Crutches - “Beat the game in any mode without using any enchanted items in combat”
- Repulsion Revulsion - “Complete the entire game in Renaissance Mode [New Game +] without using any REPEL items”
These three are self-explanatory and boil down to simply restraining yourself. The first is probably the trickiest. You'll want to bring healing classes like Geomancer and White Mage, and maybe some bulky ones. I did a run of this on the NES version that you can look to for some inspiration. For Off the Crutches, Red and Black Mage can help a lot by giving you natural AoE options.

- Permadeath - “Beat the game in any mode without reviving any KO’d characters”
Just reset whenever someone dies. It can be rough in a few places, but it's not too hard if you know what you're doing. Cheese stuff like Time Wizard can help if you're struggling with this. You'll also get this if you do a solo.

- Nomad - “Beat the game in any mode without resting at an Inn”
You'll need to use TENTs and such to save and heal when going for this one. Because HOUSEs are expensive, try to stay away from magic classes except maybe Geomancer. The White Shirt and HEAL-casting items can top you off in certain encounters late game.

- YOLO! - “Beat the game in any mode without saving your progress at all”
Some tips: you can't use inns to heal because they force saves. This makes most magic classes a bad idea here. The two exceptions are Geomancer (recharges on its own) and Time Mage (can be healed at the Dwarf Cave). You can use TENTs, etc. without setting a save slot. Don't be afraid to cheese where you can. Grinding helps, but grind safely (peninsula is often risky).

Unsorted Achievements:
These don't really fit into any other category.

- You Forgot, Didn’t You? - “Finish a battle with no weapons or armor equipped on your entire party”
This doesn't necessarily require you to do it at the start of the game. If you have to, a mix of Warriors and Lancers should do it; Geomancers can help too.

- Brave New World - “Meet the ‘13th Sage’”
- All Grown Up - “Talk to the ‘13th Sage’ with any advanced job class”
This guy is found outside the inn in Coneria. He gives you tips about sidequests when talked to when promoted.

- The First Minigame - “Complete the secret sliding tile puzzle minigame”
Note that in FFR, you must press both buttons together 55 times rather than holding one and pressing the other.

- It’s a Tradition - “Get into 20 random encounters at the ‘Peninsula of Power’”
Self-explanatory.

- XxSephiroth69xX - “Obtain Masmune”
- Sword of Legends - “Obtain Xcalber”
The Masmune is found on the Air floor in the Temple of Fiends Return. Xcalber can be obtained by taking the ADAMANT to the dwarven swordsmith. You do not need a job that can use it.

- Yep, it’s Possible - “Make CHAOS flee from battle”
The easiest way to do this is with an Elementalist. SAMPLE some marsh terrain and take it with you through the final dungeon. CHAOS has 255 Morale like most bosses. The chance for an enemy to run is determined by the following formula: Morale - 2×[Leader's Level] + (0...50) < 80. How many castings you'll need depends on how high you've grinded. Other methods include White Wizards using XFER followed by FEAR, or the Bard' HERO'S RIME.

- Speedrunning Strats - “Take 100 steps along the bottom edges of any interior dungeon rooms during a single playthrough, in any game mode”
This refers to how these tiles do not trigger encounters. Just do it until it pops.

- September - “Restore the first three ORBs in the following order: Earth, Wind, Fire”
- Cycle of the Air Avatar - “Restore all four ORBs in the following order: Water, Earth, Fire, Wind”
- Cycle of the Water Avatar - “Restore all four ORBs in the following order: Earth, Fire, Wind, Water”
- Cycle of the Earth Avatar - “Restore all four ORBs in the following order: Fire, Wind, Water, Earth”
- Cycle of the Fire Avatar - “Restore all four ORBs in the following order: Wind, Water, Earth, Fire”
You will need a Time Mage for any of these that don't start with Earth. Complete the fiend fights and step on the pedestals and the relevant achievement will pop after doing the last one.

- Great Power - “Equip 4 Power Staves at the same time”
You will need a Thief for this one as well as three other classes that can use a Power Staff: Thief itself needs to promote, but otherwise, Warrior, Monk, White Mage, Black Mage, Time Mage, Green Mage, Evoker, and Geomancer can all use them. Find the extras in Sarda's Cave, Sea Shrine B5, and Floating Castle B5. Equip them all.

- Old School - “Purchase 99 HEAL potions, one at a time, from any Item shop during a single visit”
You will need no HEALs in your inventory for this one. This can be done in Classic (where you can't buy multiple at once because reasons?) or Renaissance (as long as you only buy one at a time).
